Rated 1 out of 5 by from Liquid This came and it was very liquid . I thought it was a cream, when I opened it was very liquid and smooth. Not at all like a cream

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beatiful shine! How does one describe a gorgeous shine? Simply wiped off my Dalton boots, applied the shoe cream and let it dry for minute. When i first brushed it off with the horse hair brush the shine and rich color was a very pleasant surprise. Didn't even have to resort to Army shoe shine techniques (sprinkle some clean water and then buff with soft cloth). Went straight to my last step of lightly buffing with panty hose. Wow! and the shine lasts too. Great stuff.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gooey if applied thickly, but good coverage and pleasing colors. As an earlier reviewer noted, this cream can be quite sticky--though in my experience this happens if you apply anything more than a VERY thin, rubbed-in, coat. I suspect that there's a lot of gum arabic in this cream. If the coating is thick, it will not buff off once it's dry and will stay gooey for hours. (I haven't waited for days to see what the outcome would be.) The cordovan cream is even more gooey. The upside of this stickiness is that it allows the cream to adhere extremely well. Coupled with the high pigment content, this makes for an really strong coloring effect, well beyond any wax (or even the Saphir cream I have). The light brown cream managed to shift a pair of tan colored shoes with a somewhat pinkish tint, to a much more pleasant orange-brown tan. Which is to say that the "light brown" is more like a--great, warm--medium nutmeg-brown color. Still, not something I'd use frequently for fear of creating too much of a build up of gum. And though just the cream creates a nice sheen, a coat of wax might be a good idea lest it get damp and gooey and attract dirt.

Will you make shoe cream in dark chili or walnut?

I have a pair of St. John's in dark chili that scratch to the point where the typical polish does not cover the scratches nearly enough. I purchased them approximately 2-3 months prior to this writing.

Treat the leather sole?

Saw some shoe care videos and they apply neutral shoe cream to the sole for nutrient purpose. So Can I use this cream to treat the leather sole? Not sure if this would help but want to confirm this is harmless...at least. Or, does AE leather sole really need any treatment? Thank you,
Asked by: Lars
Our Shoe Cream has a high dye content that is intended for use on leather uppers to restore the color. You can use the Heel & Sole Edge Dressing to cover scuffs and scratches on the edges of the soles that do not have direct contact with the ground. We do not recommend using pigmented products on the bottom of the sole as you run the risk of staining floor surfaces. As far as using a neutral product, it's really up to you but we don't find it to be necessary and it could prove ineffective as it will likely wear off quickly. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

What color will go with Carlyle Brown Burnished Calf (8831)

Can you tell me what color of shoe cream will go with Carlyle Brown Burnished Calf (8831). I am planning to use shoe cream to compliment color to my shoes followed by CARNAUBA SHOE POLISH for shine. I am not sure how should I combine these. I mean should I use shoe cream first followed by p carnauba polish at same time with a gap of few minutes or should I use shoe cream one day and on next day I polish shoe with carnauba polish. Or should I use shoe cream only once a week or once every other week and use carnauba polish every week.
Asked by: Amazing One
You can use the Dark Brown Shoe Cream followed a few minutes later by the Brown Carnauba Wax Polish. You can also use the Dark Brown Premium Shoe Polish which is a combination of both of those products. Either method is acceptable and comes down to personal preference. Typically shoes may need to be cared for every 4 to 5 wears or as needed. We recommend checking out our 'Caring For Your Shoes' videos for more care information. http://www.allenedmonds.com/shoes-101/shoe-care.html Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
