Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from expensive but effective....good for someone who does their own shoes this item is good and does what it is supposed to do but it is expensive and unless you have the time to "play" with it I don't think it will be completely appreciated for what it is

Rated 2 out of 5 by Anonymous from Color Description Not Accurate I purchased the light brown shoe cream for my light brown boots. When I applied it, I noticed that the leather on my shoes got much darker. I assumed that it was just the shoes soaking up the moisture. After buffing it, I noticed that it was still pretty dark and had a rent tint to it. I decided to let it dry overnight just to make sure. I looked at it in the morning and it is still not "light brown" but instead a medium brown with a red tint to it. Not quite burgundy, not quite brown, just an odd color. Though it did give my boots a nice shine without using wax polish, I didn't expect to change the color of my shoes when I decided to polish my boots with this shoe cream, so I am definitely not happy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Does the job It works A-OKa, as long as you give it enough time to dry compleely. Not a military grade shine, but very much OK.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great shoe cream I really like AE shoe cream. It's really easy to apply and provides a very lustrous shine. I bought 4 different colors and use them all the time. They are my go to shoe shine products.

Treat the leather sole?
Saw some shoe care videos and they apply neutral shoe cream to the sole for nutrient purpose. So Can I use this cream to treat the leather sole? Not sure if this would help but want to confirm this is harmless...at least. Or, does AE leather sole really need any treatment? Thank you,
Our Shoe Cream has a high dye content that is intended for use on leather uppers to restore the color. You can use the Heel & Sole Edge Dressing to cover scuffs and scratches on the edges of the soles that do not have direct contact with the ground. We do not recommend using pigmented products on the bottom of the sole as you run the risk of staining floor surfaces. As far as using a neutral product, it's really up to you but we don't find it to be necessary and it could prove ineffective as it will likely wear off quickly. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

What color will go with Carlyle Brown Burnished Calf (8831)
Can you tell me what color of shoe cream will go with Carlyle Brown Burnished Calf (8831). I am planning to use shoe cream to compliment color to my shoes followed by CARNAUBA SHOE POLISH for shine. I am not sure how should I combine these. I mean should I use shoe cream first followed by p carnauba polish at same time with a gap of few minutes or should I use shoe cream one day and on next day I polish shoe with carnauba polish. Or should I use shoe cream only once a week or once every other week and use carnauba polish every week.
You can use the Dark Brown Shoe Cream followed a few minutes later by the Brown Carnauba Wax Polish. You can also use the Dark Brown Premium Shoe Polish which is a combination of both of those products. Either method is acceptable and comes down to personal preference. Typically shoes may need to be cared for every 4 to 5 wears or as needed. We recommend checking out our 'Caring For Your Shoes' videos for more care information. http://www.allenedmonds.com/shoes-101/shoe-care.html Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

does shoe cream expire?
Thank you for your inquiry. The shoe cream does not "expire" however, if left exposed to open air, it can dry out. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us.

Shoe cream vs. Premium shoe polish?
Hi -- will the shoe cream still give my boots a nice glossy shine very similar to the premium shoe polish? I'm thinking on switching due to the increased color pigmentation the cream has to offer. Thanks!
Thank you for your inquiry. The cream is not made to enhance the shine but more so to enhance the color. To try to get both, we would recommend the Premium Polish.

Hi. What's the difference between shoe cream and shoe polish? What's the best way to use them? Thanks
The Shoe Cream contains a high dye content that puts color back into the leather, and it also moisturizes the leather to keep them soft. The Carnauba Wax Polish has some pigment, but it's main purpose is to impart a high luster or rich glow to fine leathers. We recommend using the Shoe Cream first and follow with the Carnauba Wax. Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
