Brown Shoe Company - which later became our parent company Caleres - was founded in 1878 as one of the earliest footwear makers to create styles that were specifically designed for the right and left foot. Today we remain just as dedicated to helping you find the best pair for your feet by providing expert fittings in all of our stores and offering most of our styles in a broad range of extended sizes and widths.

Download and print out our sizing guide to determine what size you need. Remember to measure both feet separately because if one is larger than the other, you should go a size up and add an insole to the shoe for your smaller foot.

Certain foot shapes could mean you need a larger size to be comfortable. If your big toe curls against your other toes, go a half size up. If your second toe is longer than your big toe, go a full size larger to keep your feet from being constricted.

Comfort often comes down to personal preference, so we offer two different fit options to best address a range of footwear needs. Our Classic Fit is designed for a snugger, standard fit that still allows for ease of movement. Our Relaxed Fit is slightly more spacious for those who like added room or want to wear thicker socks.
