    Relaxed Fit

The relaxed fit has added space in the toe box. This extra room allows for thicker socks and foot expansion that occurs at the end of the day or during a long flight.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Love the style, but they are literally falling apart after a few wears! I purchased these shoes in late August when I started a new job. I loved the look and they fit great. Very modern style.. Since buying them, I have worn them about once a week. So, maybe 16 times. In December while walking home from work, I noticed that the rubber heel cap thin on the sole had fallen off one of the shoes. The other one was half off. I just brought them in for repair, and the the cobbler pointed out that the mid-sole and outersole were splitting apart from eachother on BOTH shoes . All said and done, the repairs will cost me $65. To be clear, I only wore these to work and I have a desk job. I literally am sitting all day. These should not have fallen apart so quickly. Buyer beware: these shoes are NOT a good value.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too Much Leather In the Toe Box A great looking and comfortable shoe, but like several of Allen Edmunds' plain toe Derby shoe styles, it has just a little bit too much leather in the area under the laces. As a result, it buckles once you've tied the shoes. This style could use some reworking.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice shoe - but poor quality control I like the shoe's sleek and simple look - including a relaxed fit. Unfortunately the shoes arrived with multiple problems - including fraying seams and uneven/lacking staining. Had to exchange them - still waiting for replacement to arrive. These shoes are also discontinued with no suitable replacement from what I can tell.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Heel fell off on day #1 I want to preface this by saying I own 10 pair of Allen Edmonds and buy a new pair at least every year. I am in Asia working right now so when family came to visit I asked them to bring me a new pair of Whitney Plain Toe shoes. I needed something conservative, comfortable and could take a little rain. I wore them the first day and (yes day #1) and they got a little wet during the day. When I was at the airport that night flying to another city, something felt odd as I walked and I noticed the back rubber end of the left heel had fallen off. My flight was leaving in about 90 minutes, so I went into a small convenience store in the airport and bought super glue to put my shoe back together. The next day at work I looked at the other shoe and the rubber piece was also about ready to fall off so I made the same repair with super glue. I am a big fan of the brand, but this was an epic fail and I only took one pair of work shoes. Unfortunately, I am in Asia so I don’t really have an opportunity to send them back so I will have take them to a local cobbler and have new heels installed.

Are they appropriate with black tie

    Asked by: Anonymous
Traditionally, 'Black-tie' dress code is worn with patent leather shoes. With that said, it is acceptable to wear non-patent leather styles such as the Whitney. We would recommend applying a higher shine with our Carnauba Wax Polish or Spray Shine. Alternately, we recommend taking a look at the La Scala style which is made using patent leather. Feel free to contact us again if you have additional questions!

What type of polish is recommended for the shoe in dark brown?

I noticed that another poster commented on shining the shoes up with a light brown polish. I want to make sure that putting light brown on what looks like a dark brown shoe will yield the desired effects. Thank you.
    Asked by: DarkBrownPolish
I have been using the neutral polish. They polish nicely and it allows the characteristics of the burnished brown to show through.

Does come in EE width normally? If not, is the D wider than normal or the EEE slimmer than normal?

    Asked by: Christian
This style is not made in a EE, it's limited to the sizes and widths currently available online. The widths of Allen Edmonds shoes range from AAA, the narrowest width, to EEE, the widest width, with a D width considered medium. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
