Brush might have been used once.
Slow process for receiving goods, had other items not fulfilled. Primium price for standard or below standard service.
It was brush might have been used once. Box smelled like polish and was banged up.

I bought several of these for each shoe cream polish and hard wax polish that I had. They work so well!!! I couldn't be any happier they really helped bring an old pair of shoes back to life.

Can this be used to scrub and apply Saddle Soap?
Hello, Dennis. The ultimate purpose of a dauber is to keep your hands and fingers away from the cream and wax. You may use a dauber when cleaning my shoes with saddle soap.
Thank you for being an Allen Edmonds customer!

are these good to apply the premium leather conditioner to my calfskin dress shoes?
We recommend applying the Premium Leather Conditioner to a soft cotton cloth, rub the conditioner into the cloth, and then rub the cloth onto the leather. We advice against applying it with brushes because applying a large amount directly into the shoe may cause the leather to saturate. The horsehair daubers are typically used to get polish into or out of the crevices of the shoe, such as the perforations or the corners.
Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

what is this used for?
Is this necessary? Can the polish be applied with a cloth? Is there a benefit to the dauber?
I think the dauber helps push it into the crevices where a cloth will not. I had this same debate and think the dauber helps get the nooks, and the cloth will miss unless you apply it thick. Smooth surfaces and no hard to get creases or damage like boots it will most likely be fine to use a cloth.

How do you care for the brushes and Dauber?
Do you just wipe clean or wash with water?
Water? Let's not get too fastidious. The daubers need to stay moist and protected from dust, not sterile. Get one for each color of polish you use, then wrap the heads in Saran Wrap or a zippy snack bag when you store them. I recommend keeping all Shoe Care items in an old AE shoe box (sturdiest), or get a shoe shine box with foot rest, like the old days. You should have two brushes (faster) and store them mated, bristle to bristle.
Go light enough on polish to leave it all on the shoes, where it does the most good. Rub the rest of the polish off on a belt, wallet or briefcase then buff those out, too. Or, you can use excess polish on the wife's shoes. She'll notice.
