    Care Instructions

STEP 1: Using a damp cloth or sponge, lather our Saddle Soap and apply onto leather to clean and restore its natural oils.

STEP 2: Moisturize the shoes with our Cream Polish to make them supple and soft, following instructions on the product.

STEP 3: Condition the shoes with our Speed Polish, protecting them from dirt, rain and snow.

STEP 4: Take our Heel dressing applicator and apply to the edge of the heel and sole.

STEP 5: Apply our Leather Lotion as needed for added protection and polish in between cleanings. Use our Horsehair Shine Brush to buff shoes to a desired shine.

*For camo printed leather, simply rub our Leather Lotion onto print with our Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth as needed and wipe smudges or dirt away with a damp cloth.

    Classic Fit

Most people consider a “classic” fit to be a “standard” fit. This fit more closely aligns with the natural shape of your feet.

Maritime Boat Shoe is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 176.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor quality nonreplacable soles Bought these on clearance and they were still not worth the price. Within a year, just through normal wear and tear, a large chunk of the front of the left sole cracked and separated, leaving a prominent "bite" missing. I had hoped that these would be a viable replacement for my Sperry Topsiders, which have also suffered in quality of late, but came away sorely disappointed. It's clear that this is a substandard product trading on the goodwill established by AE's quality dress shoes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Soles crack in the forefoot area This was my second pair of Maritime. Was happy with the first pair and bought a second that I took on a trip overseas. The soles on both shoes began to crack in the forefoot area, the left one broke completely and became unusable. I was very dissapointed. Reading the reviews I discovered that the same problem happened to other people and I'm surprise that nothing was done to improve the sole quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not wide enough. Had to be returned Shoes were well made. My husband had 2 pair of dress shoes and I thought these would be perfect casual shoes. Even though I selected a wide width they were much too narrow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second time I have purchased this style. The ordering process was smooth and easy. It arrived quickly and this pair is just as good as the last one. Very pleased.

I wear a 7 E in the Boulder moc. Would the 7E bethe right size in the Matiyime Boat Shoe? TX Dave

    Asked by: David
Thank you for your interest in our shoes! Each style can fit differently based on the contours of your feet, so it’s difficult to recommend a size via email and guarantee a proper fit. Typically, we recommend trying the same size you usually wear and judging the fit based on how comfortable you feel in the shoes. If possible, we’d love to have you visit an Allen Edmonds retail store or one of our retail partners for a professional fitting. Our associates are trained to help you find the right fit for the various lasts and styles we offer. Also, keep in mind that products purchased on may be returned within 90 days, as long as the item is unworn and accompanied by the packing slip (we advise trying the shoes on a carpeted surface to keep them in returnable condition).

How warm do these keep your feet and how breathable are they.

    Asked by: Desiree
The Maritime features Horween's Chromexcel leather. The leather is heavily infused with a proprietary blend of oils during the tanning process and therefore it is not as breathable as other types of calfskin. The embedded oils offer great water resistant properties that make it a perfect choice for boat shoes. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

    Navy Blue Color Fading

The color is fading a little on the front of the shoe. I did not see a polish offered in navy. Any suggestions on how to keep the color from fading?
    Asked by: M.Fox
I bought my son a blue shoe cream off Amazon. The shoe cream keeps the color looking good.

What belt goes with the brown Maritime?

I noticed the Prospect Ave is being marketed as a match for the other colors but I don't see an offering for the Chromexcel brown Maritime. Thanks!

Should these be stored with a shoe tree?

    Asked by: Blair
This is a personal decision. Most leather shoes should be stored with shoe trees during the post-wear drying process (for at least a full day after wearing them) so they retain their correct shape and don't develop deep wrinkles across the vamp. These shoes are meant to look "worn" (that's part of the appeal), and don't really have a full vamp. Shoe trees certainly won't hurt and may help to keep them looking new and tidy, but probably not necessary. I use shoe trees on all my normal work shoes (mainly AE and Alden cordovans), but don;t see the need to put shoe trees in my boat shoes. That's just me, however.
