    Relaxed Fit

The relaxed fit has added space in the toe box. This extra room allows for thicker socks and foot expansion that occurs at the end of the day or during a long flight.

Higgins Mill Suede Boot with Lug Sole is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 309.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks better in person than on pics I was really surprised to see the quality of the leather and the craftsmanship. my last boots bought from AE was the Park City and I had some issues with the upper and the tongue so i had to return and buy a different one. The Higgins Mill, like the Park City, runs half a size big. I am an 8.5 in baskeball/running shoes, 8 on casual shoes like stan smith and boat shoes, 8D i. dress shoes like AE strand, 5th ave. I bought the higgins mill in 7.5D and the prk city is in 7.5D also and both fits perfect for me. I have not had the chance to wear except to try on but i have about 10 other AEs and I already know I wont get disappointed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Perfect Boot I’ve lost count of how many AE shoes and boots I own. This pair I had made with special order leather soles to give them a little extra class and individuality. Perfect choice with the waxed leather upper as the leather sole adds an old world charm. I’ve been buying shoes from Allen Edmonds for years and have never once been dissatisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great boot at a great price I have just gotten into good quality boots with the purchase of 2 Red Wings (Iron ranger, Blacksmith). 2 Wolverine 1000 mile boots, and a Truman. I had seen a review of this boot on Stridewise. So when Allen Edmonds had seconds on sale, I decided to buy one. I am impressed. Overall, it is a great boot. If you like either Iron Rangers or Blacksmiths or the Wolverine 1000 mile boot, then you will like this boot. Overall construction is very good. Break-in period was very short. After one day of wearing them, they were comfortable. I am very pleased with these boots. There is one slight negative about the purchase. Allen Edmonds has not done as good a job on providing guidance regarding boot fit as either Wolverine or Red Wing. Both of these companies tell you whether the boot runs large and by how much (e.g., Red Wing tells you go down either a 1/2 to 1 full size). There is nothing similar for Allen Edmonds. I wish that there was. I bought the boot in size 13 - in hindsight, I would have gotten away with a 12. Finally, would I recommend these boats? Yes, without a doubt. Get them, especially when they are on sale or when the seconds go on sale. The price and quality then cannot be beat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE EM! I love the Higgins Mill boots. I have 2 pair. They are comfortable and look great! I've actually gotten compliments for them. The only issue, and it's a small one, is I wish they had some sort of shank. My Becketts do and that just makes them more stable and arch friendly. These are great boots for every day wear.

    Saddle leather durability

How is the saddle leather durability compared to the chomexcel?
    Asked by: Tom B
Thank you for your inquiry! Saddle Leather is stiffer and not as water resistant. Chrome tan creates a softer, less physically durable but more water resistant leather. The Chromexcel process combines aspects of both. We hope this helps!

How do you care for the bright saddle leather?

In another Q & A the bright saddle leather is described as a brown vegetable tanned leather that reveals it's gold undertones with wear but what products are best for maintaining this leather and enhancing it's vintage look?

From a comfort standpoint do you recommend the dainite rubber sole or extra lite lug sole?

    Asked by: Mickey
Thank you for your inquiry! This would definitely depend on personal preference. However, if you prefer a thicker sole we would recommend the lug sole option. We hope this information helps!

I usually wear sneakers of size 6.5. What size would be appropriate for me for these boots? Also what is 'E' width size?

    Asked by: Shreyas
I usually wear a 11.5D in New Balance and Nike sneakers. I recomend going a 1/2 size down just like most boots and dress shoes. E, is wide. EE more wide and EEE most wide. I think I answered your question. If not, I recommend contacting AE directly. They have fantastic customer service support.

    Tongue loop

Does this tongue have a stitched in loop for laces?
    Asked by: Christian
I bought a pair of Higgins Mill boots 2 years ago. They did not have a loop for laces, and this was a problem because the tongue on one boot slipped way to the side as soon as I started walking. I guess it’s not a problem with every pair, but if you read the reviews, you will see it is a common problem. It is obviously a design flaw if it happens that often. I ended up taking them to a cobbler and having loops attached.
