  • Care

We believe a great pair of shoes or boots is always a solid long-term investment. To keep your favorite footwear in top form for years or even decades to comes, use our 4 Step Shoe Care Process and these essential products.

    1. Clean

Start by applying Saddle Soap with a Cotton Flannel Polishing Cloth to remove stains and dirt from the uppers and bring up the leather's natural oils.

    2. Polish

Next, use a Horsehair Dauber to treat your footwear with Cream Polish which renews the color and luster of leather. Any time you want to achieve a truly glossy, high shine, you should instead apply Carnauba Wax Polish.

    3. Dress

Restore the color and surface of the leather on the heels and soles using Heel Dressing.

    4. Protect

Leather Lotion keeps uppers soft, supple and hydrated while a Horsehair Shine Brush is perfect for buffing your shoes to the desired shine. As a last step, spray on Water Protector to guard against harmful moisture and spills and use a Leather Dopp Kit to keep all your care products organized.

Fifth Avenue Cap-Toe Oxford is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 957.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent brand of shoes. I have recently purchased the Strand, the Fifth Ave. and the Park Ave. I love them all. Quality, comfort , style and distinction all in one. I have the Coffe brown, black and oxblood. Strictly wearing them with my Sunday Best Attire. I am more than satisfied with the product and the value. Great Brand .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfort at no cost to style. Shoe shopping has always been a challenge to me. I have high arches and wear only a 7.5. To find a stylish dress shoe usually entails stuffing a size-up with Kleenex or wearing two pair of socks. Not this time! I can be comfortable while wearing dress shoes appropriate for the occasion

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Shoe The shoe did not disappoint. I’ve worn it for two weeks now. Size is true. No breaking in period required. I have several other pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes (love them all), but this shoe is my favorite. The style is sharp and comfort is just what you’d expect. I’m considering buying a black pair of the 5th Avenue cap-toe oxfords as well.

What type of color is mahogany?

Is it a darker version of chili (so a brown with some red hues in it)? Or is it more like a shinier version of cigar (so a sort of museum brown)? Or something else? As ever, it's a little hard to tell from the photos against a white background.
    Asked by: srlclark
The pair that I received showed signs of wear and an attempt to polish the shoes. That being said it could be any shade.

Is any part of this shoe bookbinder or corrected grain leather?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Definitely not!....uppers are soft calf with multistage finishing and a full leather lining. Construction and finishing quality are beautiful. Comfortable with little to no break in time..Worth the money if you reject a throwaway culture and value fine quality

How long does the sale go for the fifth avenue dress shoe? Also, do we get 15% off our first purchase even if the fifth ave shoe is on sale already?

    Asked by: Anonymous
You only get 15% off your first order. I recently purchased two pairs of fifth avenues and am returning them both. The shoes have obviously been worn, inside the shoes you can see wear marks on the heal and the insoles. The leather uppers were scratched and scuffed up which were noticeable. Parts of the leather uppers were crackling and you can tell that someone tried to polish the shoes but it looked shoddy. I’ve returned four out of ten pairs of shoes ordered and the other six had some flaws that were not that bad. Returning 40 % of shoes ordered makes one wonder if quality control is part of the process anymore. Purchase at your own risk.
