To complete your order online, pick your recraft package below and links to a prepaid shipping label and packing slip will be sent via email after your purchase.

If you reside outside of the continental US, please use the International Order Form and include it with your shoes.*

EMAIL CONFIRMATION

You will receive an email confirmation when your order has been received by our craftsman. We will communicate any potential concerns or issues prior to beginning service.

REFINISHING OR HEEL SERVICE

Expect up to 3 weeks from the time we receive your footwear for a refinishing package or heel service.

FULL RECRAFTING PACKAGE

Expect up to 6 weeks from the time we receive your footwear for a full Recrafting package.

EMAIL CONFIRMATION

An email confirmation of shipment details with before and after photos are sent to you. Get excited – your Recrafted footwear is on its way home.

RECRAFTING IS MORE ART THAN SCIENCE

At Allen Edmonds, we take pride in doing our very best in restoring your favorite footwear. Recrafting won’t make your shoes last forever; leather is an organic material that ages with time and eventually is unable to be restored properly. The longevity of your footwear is determined by how you use it, how you care for them, or if it has previously been serviced by other cobblers.

We can only recraft original Allen Edmonds footwear. Recrafting helps restore your Allen Edmonds footwear close to its original state, but there are some things we can’t correct. For example, we can’t change the original color or size, remove tears or blemishes, remove stains or deep scuffs, or rebuild entire sections of your footwear.

Does Allen Edmonds recraft any brand of shoe?
No, Allen Edmonds only recrafts Allen Edmonds brand shoes.
Can you convert a dress shoe into a sneaker or a sneaker into a dress shoe?
Due to construction methods, we cannot convert a dress shoe and add a sneaker bottom or take a sneaker and welt a dress shoe sole.
Are all Allen Edmonds shoes recraftable?
Due to the construction methods used, not all Allen Edmonds shoes are able to be recrafted. If you are unsure whether your shoes are recraftable, contact our recrafting team at recrafting@allenedmonds.com or 1-877-495-5564 (Mon-Fri 7:00AM-5PM CST), to determine whether your shoes are able to be recrafted.
Are the insoles of my shoes replaced during the recrafting process?
If your shoes are constructed with removeable insoles, yes. However, most of our shoes are crafted with built-in insoles which we do not replace to preserve the unique imprint you've developed with your feet over the years.
Can Allen Edmonds repair my shoes that have damage to the leather upper?
Unfortunately, we are unable to repair or replace sections of the leather upper. Damaged sustained to the upper (i.e. cuts, deep scrapes, stains, torn leather, or “puppy chews”) is permanent. At this stage, we recommend investing in a new pair of Allen Edmonds.
I've already had a pair of shoes repaired by another cobbler. Can they still be recrafted?
Depends. Because the recrafting process is exclusive to Allen Edmonds, many cobblers do not have the correct tools to reconstruct our shoes, therefore they resort to using alternative methods of resoling (such as stitching through the insoles, or driving nails through the insoles) which prevents us from being able to disassemble the shoes. Our shoes are crafted with care, that's why there is no one better to care for them than an Allen Edmonds cobbler.
How do I know if my shoes are too beat up to be recrafted?
We always do our best to repair any Allen Edmonds shoe, however, there are some cases when we suggest purchasing a new pair of shoes. Shoes with cracked or torn leather uppers, cracked insoles, or worn through linings usually are beyond repair. If you are unsure if your shoes can be recrafted, contact our recrafting team at recrafting@allenedmonds.com or bring them to an Allen Edmonds retail store to have your shoes evaluated by an associate.

How should I ready my shoes for shipping?
Simply clear your shoes of any items you wish to be returned including shoe laces, orthotics or shoe trees as we are unable to return due to shipping restraints.
What if I send my shoes in to be recrafted and they cannot be recrafted?
While we do our best to recraft any pair of Allen Edmonds shoes, if for any reason we are not able to, we will gladly call you to provide an explanation and return your shoes to you free of charge.
When generating the FedEx shipping label, do I enter Allen Edmonds' address or my address?
Enter your complete return address, including a business name and/or suite number/apt number for the home address. This is the address the shoes will be returned to upon completion.
I'm sending from a residential address. What do I enter for Company Name?
If you wish to send your form to a commercial address, simply add the name of the company in the company field and enter your name in the contact field and complete the form.
What should I enter as the weight of the package?
You may leave that field blank as FedEx will determine the package weight.

How do I know if my shoes were received by the Recrafting department?
You will receive an email 3 to 5 days after your shoes are delivered to us to inform that they have been received.
When can I expect to receive my recrafted shoes?
Please allow about 4 - 6 weeks from the time they are received for your shoes to be shipped back to you.

Are the wrinkles removed during recrafting?
Sometimes. During the recrafting process, the leather will be restretched over the last often times eliminating most superficial wrinkles. However, deeper wrinkles may still be visible.
How many times can I have a pair of shoes recrafted?
The longevity of your Allen Edmonds shoes greatly depends on how well they have been cared for. Typically, shoes with good leather uppers and interior lining are still able to receive recrafting services. Generally, we can Recraft a pair of shoes about 2 or 3 times maximum.
Are the before and after photos and video of actual recrafted shoes?
Yes. No trick photography was used in any of the media on our website. While individual results may vary slightly, we are committed to making sure your shoes are shipped back to you in as-close-to-new condition as possible.
Can I have a different sole put on?
Yes, you may opt to choose a different sole only as an upgrade to a recrafting package. Sole conversions cannot be added to any other service or ordered alone.
Can the color be changed?
Unfortunately, no. The leather color is determined during the tanning process and enhanced with finishing. Anything used to alter the color of an existing shoe would likely wear off with use.
What happens if my shoes are damaged during the recrafting process?
In the rare case that your shoes are damaged by us during the recrafting process and they do not pass our quality inspection standards, we will gladly offer you a replacement pair from our current collection of styles.
