“I WORK AS A SENIOR EXECUTIVE FOR A PRECIOUS METALS FIRM. WE’RE A FAIRLY CASUAL ENVIRONMENT, BUT I’M STILL A FAN OF DRESSING UP WHEN NEEDED, AND MY ALLEN EDMONDS ARE ALWAYS WORKED INTO THE ENSEMBLE.”
That appreciation for refined designs that also work in casual settings has led James to staples like our shell cordovan dress shoes and Higgins Mill boot, all in his often hard-to-find size 12 EEE. “It’s all about quality,” he said. “I used to wear shoes that would only last one season. I also struggled to find an American-made shoe that fit my wide foot. Having a wide assortment of materials and styles means that there’s a shoe for every occasion.”
“ALLEN EDMONDS IS A THIRD-GENERATION TRADITION IN MY FAMILY. MY UNCLE INTRODUCED ME TO IT. I WAS ADMIRING HIS SHOES ONE DAY AND HE TOLD ME I NEEDED TO SAVE MY PENNIES TO MAKE SURE I COULD BUY QUALITY FOOTWEAR.”
In a nod to his family’s own history with our footwear, James chose two timeless colors of supple, European calfskin for this design: a rich shade of walnut brown and classic black. Both are only available as small batch drops exclusively for our anniversary celebration. While bringing back this signature, American style may have completed part of James’s personal sartorial mission, he’s already on the lookout for the next addition to his footwear rotation. “I’ve got more than 100 pairs and I’m still collecting,” he said.
